5 years ofbuilding software— full-stack, with a soft spot forJavaScript&React.

Self-taught developer from India, five years deep into JavaScript. I like small details, honest engineering, and shipping things that feel alive — and love yapping about technology and engineering.

Vaibhav Panwarthat's me →

I never finished a CS degree. (no regrets)

I taught myself to code from a borrowed laptop, a lot of 2am Stack Overflow, and binge-watching Traversy Media. What started as curiosity became a career — shipping React, Next, Node, and Python at production scale, writing honest code that other engineers like maintaining.

These days you'll find me building with AI, reading engineering blogs, and solving DSA once in a while.

I care about craft.

Off the keyboard: I play a lot of cricket, train calisthenics most mornings, and plan the next train ride through the Himalayas. Usually in that order.

Why AI won't replace engineers anytime soon — I break down infrastructure costs against profit margins, the geopolitical layer, and use back-of-the-envelope maths to make the case.

04 / Journey

The long way
round.

No CS degree, no bootcamp — just a failed internals exam, a lot of Traversy Media, and a stubborn streak.

  1. 2019

    The first commit

Scored a zero in my optional Computer Science internals. A classmate — now a teacher — walked me through my first line of code, just enough to clear the exam. That accidental start marked the beginning of everything.

  2. 2020

    Traversy at 1.5x

Binge-watched Traversy Media and landed an internship as a Next.js developer. The tutorials finally clicked when someone was actually paying me to ship.

  3. 2021

    First full-time gig

Started my full-time career as a MERN developer with a Kuwait-based startup — production code, real deadlines, and a steep learning curve.

  4. 2022

    Frontend lead

Joined Mediaslide as Frontend Lead. Mentored developers across Bangladesh and India, delivered websites for some of the world's leading modelling agencies, and worked across timezones with teams around the globe. Built microservices for their CMS over a three-year tenure that shaped how I think about scale and collaboration.

  5. 2025

    Now

Joined GlobalLogic, where I still work as a full-stack developer. Off the clock: yapping on YouTube about AI and engineering.

Cricket

Fast-bowling all-rounder who once ran on four hours of sleep and a part-time hustle, chasing a professional dream that never quite landed. Countable injuries, infinite lessons. I've let go of the pro ambition — but weekend cricket stays. It's still part of who I am.

3injuries on the résumé — ligament tear, broken thumb, bulged disc — and endless happy memories
02

Calisthenics

Streetlifting, handstands, muscle-ups, pistol squats — the kind of work that gave me more confidence and resilience than any therapy ever could. Bodyweight training taught me patience the hard way.

20 kg103 → 83 — all calisthenics, no shortcuts
03

Travel

The underconfident, introverted version of me met someone braver on mountains, beaches, and long treks — usually with the right people beside me. Travel didn't change who I am; it showed me a side I didn't know was there.

∞memories, and counting

Engineering, the talk

I can yap about tech and engineering all day — system design rabbit holes, why good naming is the hardest problem, and whether AI is actually replacing us or just making us ship faster. Fair warning if you ask me how I feel about either.

∞opinions, some of them correct
